Sounds session modes explained

2 min read

Each Sounds mode is an intention label for the mix — healing (restore), meditation (stillness), sleep (wind-down), focus (work), alignment (daily reset). Atmosphere first; no cure claims.

What it is

Session modes tell the procedural engine what kind of arc and texture to favor. You still control duration, intensity, and optional focus.

Why use it

Matching mode to intention reduces guesswork. If you want concentration, start with Focus; if you want bedtime, start with Sleep.

What people often notice

  • Clearer intention before you hit play
  • Easier comparison of what helps you personally
  • Pairs with Learn notes under each mode in the player

Good use cases

  • Focus mode for deep work
  • Sleep mode for evening
  • Meditation mode beside a silent sit
  • Alignment mode as a midday reset

Evidence & limits

Modes are design affordances for personal preference. They are not clinical protocols. If sound increases agitation, stop and try silence or a different mode.
